Tapping Into Your Creative Self

Entrepreneurship requires a great sense of creativity. Whether it is writing marketing materials, articles for submission, or even the daily structuring and balancing of your business – creativity is a necessary skill for the self-employed. But the trouble comes in when are creative muse takes a vacation.

Have you ever sat down to do something creative and you just go blank?

All of the daily demands on your time and attention that don’t require creativity can leave you feeling drained and completely – well – uncreative!

I have found that the more ‘nothing’ that I do, the more I can tap into my creative self. If sitting still doesn’t do it for me, which it rarely does, I do the dishes, take a shower (if you need one) or take a drive. You are most able to open up and tap into your creative self when you are doing activities that don’t require your full attention.

Have you ever noticed this? That’s why it is so important to keep a notepad around you at all times.

So if your creative self has been hiding from you, take a drive, wash the dishes or do a routine task. Find the one that opens up your mind and just go do it whenever you need to be more creative.

Cheers to your creative self!
