When Fear Creeps In, It is Time for Faith and Execution of our Will

I just finished an incredibly powerful book by Caroline Myss called myss-bookThe Anatomy of the Spirit. I got through this book in warp speed, but I can’t get it out of my head. This book was filled with incredible insight about personal power, healing, and human consciousness so I wanted to share some fascinating information within the book.

As Conscious Entrepreneurs we are in touch with the Divine, and from a spiritual perspective we acknowledge that the highest goal is surrendering our personal will into the hands of the Highest Power.

So what do we do when a person begins feeling fearful and is becoming paralyzed by that fear?

“The spiritual test in all our lives is the challenge to discover what motivates us to make the choices we do, and whether we have faith in our fears or the Divine.” Caroline Myss

Many people often become paralyzed in their fears, claiming that they are unsure of the next step. Myss challenges this belief; stating that when a person says they don’t know what to do next – truthfully they know exactly what to do, but are too terrified to do it. She suggests living according to these rules to move through to surrendering to the Divine will and letting go our own personal agenda.

1.       Make no judgments – This includes not judging yourself or others.

2.       Have no expectations – No expectations is distinctly different from setting goals or working towards something, expectations include being set on only one outcome and then feeling disappointed when something different occurs

3.       Give up the need to know why things happen – We can never fully understand the reasons why things happen, surrender to questioning occurrences in your life

4.       Trust that the unscheduled events in our lives are a form of spiritual direction – no matter the outcome see that everything is happen in the proper Divine order

5.       Have the courage to make the choices we need to make, accept what we cannot change, and have the wisdom to know the difference – I see this as getting out of our way, do what needs to be done, and let go of that which cannot be changed including the past, your failures, and other shortcomings that you believe you have

Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll share Myss’ tips on becoming conscious.

I too loved this book! I read it several years ago and still is with me today. Caroline Myss has much to contribute and is truly a gift to our world. I am reading one of her recent works right now, Sacred Contracts which I also recommend.
