Tips to Stay on Track Heading Into the Last Quarter

Can you believe we are rounding out the third quarter of the year? My sister started asking me about Christmas plans and I started thinking about my mountain trip for Thanksgiving. Time really does pass us by very fast.

It’s important to stay on track throughout the year, goals will shift and plans will change, but you should do a routine check in to see where you are. Here are some tips to staying on track as we move into the last quarter of the year.

  1. Review your goals. Celebrate any successes along the way. Re-evaluate ones that are not completed, get rid of the goals that don’t fit anymore and revise and update the ones that I do.
  2. Your personal mission. Has your mission changed at all? Are you on the right path? Have you gotten distracted? Notice where you are and make any necessary shifts.
  3. Refocus. What’s important to you? Are there things that were high on your priority list that have been procrastinated or pushed aside? Do what you can to get the most important things done first.
  4. Get an accountability partner. Find someone who you can share your goals with and tell them some deadlines that you need to be held accountable for. Perhaps you make a check out for $100 to a group or organization you don’t believe in. If you don’t meet the deadline your partner gets to mail the check.
  5. Seek support. Has anything not been completed because something else got in your way? Do you need a little help or outside support to ensure that your goals are met? Don’t be afraid to ask for help, hire a coach, or find a mentor. The power of support goes a long way when it comes to goal achievement.
